Welcome to Sunnyvale (California) Garden Club

CLUB PROJECTS

Sunnyvale Historical Society

We support the Sunnyvale Historical Society in their effort to build the new Heritage Park Museum on the grounds of the Sunnyvale Community Center. We will give input for the landscaping of the new building.

Penny Pines

We collect money at each meeting. Sixty-eight dollars will reforest an acre of seedlings in a National Forest. In 2005 we funded one plantation.

Friends of Big Bear

Success!  With help from this project the bald eagle is no longer an endangered species!

Nature Conservancy

A project to protect plant and animal life through land conservation.

Sempervirens Fund

Land preservation and memorial tree plantings at Big Basin Redwoods State Park, Butano State Park, Castle Rock State Park, Portola Redwoods State Park, and Redwood National Park in California.

Theodore Payne Foundation

Protection of wild flowers and native plants.

Anza Borrego Foundation

Protection of cactus gardens.

Sunnyvale Heritage Center

In 1990 - 1991 the City encouraged us to design and plant ten plots at the Sunnyvale Heritage Center. This was a big project which included preparing the soil, weeding, trimming, and general upkeep of the area. Garden club members continue to this day to work on the plots the second Wednesday of each month.

Scholarship

Our club gives a scholarship each year to a worthy student majoring in horticulture.

Bishop Buds

A Junior Garden Club - we teach the children simple gardening techniques and conservation. This includes classroom teaching and "hands on" work in the gardens.

Sunnyvale Health Care Center

Members work with the residents once a month, helping them with special projects.
